First immersive and amazing experience with the new Runway features during Gen:48 Aleph Edition.
With Gino Carranza we created MIA, a 90-sec short: a café built on an old train station, a young woman trapped in a timeless loop of farewells, using a world flicker between realities (inciting incident), a time traveler archetype, and a single location over different eras.
Everything built from scratch with our input + imagination — no existing footage in collaboration with artificial intelligence.
It was inspiring, eye-opening, and transformative — discovering that AI filmmaking is not about replacing teams, but about nourishing it with our collective knowledge, experience, and creativity across multidisciplinary peers — making the tool stronger while keeping the heart of storytelling alive. Mi primera experiencia inmersiva con las nuevas funciones de Runway tuvo lugar durante Gen:48 – Aleph Edition.
Junto a Gino Carranza, creamos MIA, un cortometraje de 90 segundos ambientado en un café construido sobre una antigua estación de tren. La historia sigue a una joven atrapada en un bucle atemporal de despedidas, que se despliega a partir de un parpadeo entre realidades como incidente incitador, el arquetipo de una viajera en el tiempo y una única locación que existe a través de distintas épocas.
Todo el proyecto fue construido desde cero a partir de nuestras propias ideas e imaginación — sin material preexistente durante solo 48 horas — en estrecha colaboración con la inteligencia artificial.
La experiencia fue inspiradora, reveladora y transformadora. Reafirmó la idea de que la inteligencia artificial no busca reemplazar a los equipos creativos, sino nutrirlos con conocimiento colectivo, experiencia y creatividad multidisciplinaria, fortaleciendo la herramienta sin perder vivo el corazón del storytelling.
